Taksim general information

Taksim Square is İstanbul’s center of unlimited entertainment with its restaurants, bars and stores. It offers you non-stop amusement and fun throughout your accommodation. With numerous restaurants and cafes that appeals to different tastes and budgets, it is guaranteed to please everyone. The Taksim Square, the main city center of the city of Istanbul, is well-known for its bars, pubs and clubs that are satisfactory for party-lovers and the night lasts longer in Taksim center. It is also the heart of cultural activities of İstanbul including concerts, operas and any kind of arts exhibitions. In addition, there are many stores in Taksim where guests can find both the high fashion brands and unique pieces that are produced worldwide and in Turkey.

İstiklal Street, a long street surrounded by stores and cafes, offers you a nostalgic atmosphere with its tram and one of the world’s oldest subways. It is a pleasure to walk through the street and it is absolutely worth visiting.

Nişantaşı is today a fashionable shopping district and an affluent residential area. The quarter forms the background to the largest community of foreign residents in Istanbul after Taksim and Cihangir. It is one of the best shopping districts of Istanbul. It contains designer label stores, very nice restaurants, cafes and a beautiful mall. You can start your way to Nişantaşi from the Rumeli Street which starts at Osmanbey metro station. On your way you can find many well known stores, brands as well as cute cafes. Lately you will come to Nisantasi intersection. We will cross street here and make a right into Vali Konagi Street for a short walk. First on our left is the excellent Yargici brand name clothing store, which is on the favorite list of many people. Across from Yargici there is nice cafe called Zamane Kahvesi, but just after Yargici there are also two well known cafes, Starbucks and Cafe Nero. Now is the time to make a left turn into the famous Abdi Ipekçi street. Abdi Ipekçi street is is lined with some of the worlds famous designer and brand name stores.  Once you arrive to Tesvikiye street you will see Tesvikiye Mosque a mosque that has a unique architecture in baroque style designed by Balyan brothers who designed Dolmabahce palace. Teşvikiye cafe is right next to Tesvikiye Mosque. Finally we arrive at the large Saray Muhallebicisi restaurant/cafe and dessert shop, a very successful chain owned by the mayor of Istanbul.
